Adoption Process

Reserving Your Puppy

If you are ready to add an adorable Windy Ridge Cockapoo Puppy to your family please fill out our Puppy Application below.  Once we have reviewed your application we will be in contact with you to set up a phone interview.  We will discuss puppy preferences, current and upcoming litters and any questions you may have.  You will then have the option to put down a deposit to hold a spot on our reservation list.   We are currently taking reservations for our 2024 litters.

The deposit to hold a puppy is $300 and will be applied to the purchase of your puppy.  Deposits are non-refundable but are always transferable to another puppy if you aren't ready when your spot on the list comes up.   Deposits will be deducted from the purchase price.  Remaining balance will be due when your puppy is 8 weeks.  

Picking Out Your Puppy

We begin the process of picking out your puppy at 5-6 weeks.  We feel that their little personalities show through at this point so you will be able to get a good idea of what puppy would best fit your family.  We will start picking out in reservation list order.  When picking out your puppy we offer FaceTime/Whatsapp video call for live interaction.   We do take lots of pictures and videos as they grow so that you can get to know the puppies and watch them grow!  We also post videos so that you can see them interact with their litter mates and get a feel for their sweet cheerful personalities!

We feel it is best to send our puppies home at 10 weeks.  To help you get to know your puppy before it comes home we take pictures or videos every two weeks so that you can enjoy watching them grow with us!  You are welcome to visit your puppy before it goes home but we will not schedule visits until after 8.5 weeks so that it has had its first booster shots and has a stronger immune system.  Our highest priority is the health of our pawrents and puppies and we thank you for understanding that!

When you pick out your puppy you will also choose how your puppy will go home.  Some options are:

​

*Our puppies can be picked up directly from our home!   We are located near Burlington, IA.  All puppies picked up at our home are required to be charged 7% Iowa sales tax.   We realize that this is not always convenient or possible so we also offer other options such as...

​

*Meeting you at an airport near us.  You can fly into Moline, IL (MLI) or Cedar Rapids<IA (CID) and we will meet you there and give you your puppy in a soft sided airline carrier so you can fly home with it.

​

*We offer Puppy Nanny service.  We will hand deliver your puppy to your nearest major US airport.  

​

*We can also drive and plan to meet you closer to your home within a 75 mile radius.  All puppies delivered in Iowa will be charged 7% Iowa sales tax.   

​

Your puppy will be acclimated to our soft sided airline carrier prior to going home to reduce stress on them while traveling. The comfort and health of your puppy is our top priority!

Payment Information

Personal checks, Apple Pay or Venmo with 3% charge will be accepted for deposits and for remaining balance payment.  

​

Remaining balance will be due when your puppy is 8 weeks old.  

​

Iowa sales and puppy pick-ups in Iowa will be charged 7% sales tax as required by Iowa law.  This would apply to pick-ups at Cedar Rapids (CID) airport as well.  

Puppy Contract and Health Guarantee

All puppies adopted from Windy Ridge Puppies will come with a purchase agreement.  We do everything we can to ensure that our puppies are healthy and that they go to a good loving home.  The contract will emphasize two main points:

       

                All puppies are sold with a spay/neuter agreement.

               If at any point you are unable to care for your dog or need to relinquish your dog we ask that you relinquish them to us so that we may find them a new home. 

​

We reserve the right to refuse or refund a deposit/reservation if necessary.  It is important to us that we only send our puppies to homes where they will be loved and treated as a cherished family member.
